Southend Congress

The Southend Congress took place over Easter with some good performances by Essex Juniors.

In the Open event Daniel Gallagher (Maldon) scored 4.5/7 and only missed out on the title of Essex Champion on tie break.  Elliot Cocks (Chelmsford) also made a good score of 3/5 in the u170 section.

This year the Organisers had revamped the lower sections to have both an under 120 and under 95 section.  This attracted many more junior players and the best Essex scores were by Adhith Srikanth (Brentwood) who came =2nd in the u95 with 4/5 and Jonathan Cheung (Rayleigh) who won a grading prize in the same event by scoring 3.5/5.

We hope that even more Essex juniors will enter this excellent tournament next year.
